Sarah Thomas is a graduate student studying Urban and Regional Planning at the University of South Florida. She also has a B.A. in International Studies, also from the University of South Florida. She became interested in urban issues as an undergrad, and has developed a focus on urban issues in the Tampa Bay area after serving as an intern for a light rail campaign in 2010. Her research interests include mixed-use developments, transit, comprehensive planning, and community identities. She has also taken an interest in city and county fiscal policies. Her thesis focuses on site feasibility studies for a new Tampa Bay Rays stadium for the area. As a lifelong resident of the Bay Area, Sarah hopes to help the area become one of the great urban centers in the country.
Sarah joins the October 2011 Environmental Design Internship program and will be blogging with The GRID until October 2012.
