Architecture is a highly visual and creative discipline, so how your work is presented - with prominent, large images is key to selling your company. A gallery slideshow means clients don’t have to click on to the next image. Before and after images of a project are strong adverts for the power of your services.
- News Page
Keep your site current and engaging with a news page that users will return to check regularly. Beware, however, a news page that hasn’t been updated for six months or more can do more harm than good. This component should only be added if you have the time to regularly update it.
- Client Testimonials
These are a good way of giving potential clients reassurance that you are a reliable and friendly company to work with, who can deliver results.
- Key project stages narrative
People love a narrative and seeing successful projects through the eyes of fellow customers. Focusing on a single project, from start to finish; outlining the development of the brief, choices made by you and the customer in the initial design process, going onto site and the customer making the finished space their own. For clients with no prior experience of working with architects, this gives them an idea of what to expect.
To ensure a human side to your website, add photos of your team with their job title, as well as a brief biography outlining why they are passionate about architecture, background and specialties.
Anyone in the company can post to your blog. Posts containing on-site project updates (with photos), current legislation or regulations opinions, upcoming events that staff are attending can all convey a company profile that attracts customers who share your values and opinions.
- Social Media Feed
An effective way to boost Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is to integrate your site with social media marketing. By synchronising with Facebook or Twitter you can encourage visitors to the site, while fellow Facebook or Twitter users will be able to share your site with others – it works both ways!
Do you agree these are the most important components? Are there any other components that you feel are vital for a successful architecture website design?
