Shelley Rekte is a Graduate Student studying Community and Regional Planning at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with academic coursework in Landscape Architecture. She holds a B.G.S. in Art from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. As a native Lincolnite and mother of a fifteen year old son, she has seen many changes in the world around her, as well as the differences between her son’s childhood and her own. Shelley understands the importance of the environment and strives to broaden her own perspective with the aspiration of expanding the perspectives of others for developing equitable communities.
